September 17, 2026
Structural retrofitting and redevelopment of existing and abandoned hotel complex
HELIOS Hotel Complex in Agia Marina, Attica
Approx. 34,550 m2 with 28 existing buildings across three plots
Working with an existing development of such a magnitude involves dealing with decades of history embedded in the structures: existing geometry, materials, reinforcement detailing, deterioration and challenging coastal environmental
conditions.
OMIKRON KAPPA CONSULTING S.A. design scope covers complete structural engineering lifecycle — from detailed structural mapping and pathology assessment and advanced seismic analysis, to the design of targeted strengthening and rehabilitation interventions.
The scope also extends to the geotechnical and structural design of new structures and facilities, including swimming pools, water reservoirs, a wastewater treatment plant and retaining structures, supported by BIM-based interdisciplinary coordination and construction supervision.
A challenging project where mapping, analysis, rehabilitation and new design come together to give an existing development a new future.
